Medieval cartographers labeled uncharted territories on their maps “Here Be Dragons”, to warn away potential explorers; with this show, we totally ignored that warning, choosing instead to go searching for danger. Turns out it’s more fun without a map.

Here Be Dragons is a rock concert wrapped in a musical, an original jukebox musical from Brooklyn-based indie band Apollo Run about what happens when the system crumbles, it might be your fault, and you don’t know what to do next. In a country, a family, or a relationship, what do you do with this kind of uncertainty: hovering at the edge of growing up, not knowing where you’re going or who you’ll be, but completely sure that nothing can stay the same? How can we take control of where we’re going? Can we ever be in charge of our own growing up? The people in the show are realizing that the change they’re seeking requires a change inside them as well, hoping that the map will write itself just ahead of them as they try to follow it.
